Holisim means that there are multiple parts and all of those parts becomes a whole. The natural world can only be understood through its parts which then relate to the larger whole.
For purposes of these photos, it portrays an art and just as any painting, it used what was available to capture the eye of the beholder, thus, it was manufactured and created resulting in the final product, the photographs.
