What is a matter? I think it's a cause or a purpose. A matter is something that has been organized to express substance. It is a way by which things can be brought to conciousness specifically for deliberation.
For purposes of this photo, it portrays an art and just as any painting, it used what was available to capture the eye of the beholder, thus, it was manufactured and created resulting in the final product, the photograph.
